Pringle Law specialises in Divorce and Family Law and is able to deal with all legal aspects of what is often an extremely stressful and difficult situation.
Pringle Law are committed to the resolution of family problems by negotiation, conciliation and achieving an amicable settlement wherever possible thereby saving costs and the stress of having to appear in Court. However in situations where this is not possible, the team at Pringle Law are fast, effective and tough, but fair, litigators in Court to achieve good results for clients.
Pringle Law acts for both high net worth clients (including those from abroad) along with handling a high volume of family matters for clients on Legal Aid. All our team receive the same efficient cost effective and compassionate service.
All at Pringle Law appreciate the stress and emotional trauma which accompanies the breakdown of a relationship and we aim to take a compassionate, non-confrontational approach with opponents relating to these matters.
Pringle Law has contacts with a wide variety of advisors and professionals to which our clients can be referred for specialist help in certain areas where necessary.
We make every effort to address the needs of both clients and their children.
We are able to deal with a relationship breakdown quickly and efficiently. If it is the breakdown of a marriage a client may decide to proceed by way of a Separation Agreement and wait for a period of 2 years prior to issuing Divorce Proceedings. Alternatively, an immediate Divorce Application may be issued if the client has sufficient grounds (e.g. adultery or unreasonable behaviour etc). Each family situation is considered individually and advice is tailor made to suit the particular situation.
Pringle Law is able to provide discrete, compassionate, confidential, effective and practical legal advice.
Pringle Law is also able to assist in situations where clients are seeking injunctions, for example, to freeze assets or in respect of domestic violence situations.
We routinely take all necessary steps to progress financial claims with all due diligence including the obtaining of interim Maintenance Orders and interim Financial Orders wherever possible.
We also seek full and frank disclosure of relevant documents and information in relation to assets and liabilities from the opposing parties' Advocate to be able to give clients full advice as to their entitlement to financial relief.
Pringle Law often deals with cases where assets are being held in another jurisdiction, sometimes via companies, trusts or other structures and regularly works with lawyers in other jurisdictions to recover such assets.
Children
Pringle Law regularly acts for clients in respect of Care Proceedings taken by Social Services and is able to locate and instruct the appropriate experts where necessary to assist such clients.
Pringle Law is able to deal with Contact and Residence Applications in relation to children, efficiently and in the best interests of the child. We deal with matters such as removal of children from jurisdiction and change of name of the child etc.
Pringle Law acted in one of the first adoptions on the Island and is very familiar with adoption proceedings.
Pringle Law is able to draw up Co-habitation Agreements for non-marital clients. Pringle Law is also able to draft Pre-Nuptial Agreements for parties contemplating marriage.
